The Spring Ride and Social was instigated in 2007 by Dwight and Pat Harris to get the riding season off to a good start and to polish up rusty riding skills. It was a chance to renew accquaintances with fellow Club Members and socialize over dinner after the winter hiatus.

Event Comments: 2019 13th Annual GVMC Spring Ride Thank you for coming out and supporting the 13th annual Spring Ride. The weather turned out pretty good - dry and not windy. The ride this year was a modified scavenger/ poker run. We received many praises on the ride, enough to do it again next year, (with a few twists.) The total ride as GPS’d was 231 kilometers. No time limit was given due to the experimental nature of this ride. The first rider arrived back in 3hr 55min. The last rider stumbled in at almost 6hrs.
Dwight Harris with a Diamond Flush won the top poker hand. The second winner was Chris Sutton with two pair, Queens and Eights. Third winner was Phil Blackburn with a pair of Queens, king high and in fourth place was Wendy Lum with a pair of Jacks, King high. Our top two prizes were donations from Daytona Motorsports - a ladies leather jacket and a rider to passenger communications set.
The ride made after expenses $295.12. I would like to thank Rob Paul Morris for all his help in organizing the ride; Jackie for sign up and taking payments; Harold for the one checkpoint we ended up having as well as pick up of the other two check points. Richard Brown for taking the pictures. Guy Rodrigue and Don Bowman for parking lot set up and Harold and Chris for clean up. Special thanks to all who jumped in to do the small things in the back ground that are so important.
See you all next year for the 14th Annual Spring Run.
